14 October 2026 NSE trading bot daily report

Up at the start is the rise from the previous close when the bot started (about 09:35 IST). Volume vs usual compares the morning's trading volume with the stock's normal pace.
How the market moved
The Nifty index moved down by 0.29% on the same day, measured over the same time window as the bot's trading session. The bot's result is based on its entire balance, while the Nifty reflects the broader market.
Which stocks caught the bot's eye
Out of 100 stocks screened for a minimum rise of 0.5% and volume pace of at least 1.0, 14 passed the morning screen. The bot's AI model read headlines for the top 10 candidates. Notable stocks included Coal India Ltd. with a 1.86% morning rise and 2.71 times normal volume, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. up 1.2% with 2.39 times volume, and HCL Technologies Ltd. rising 0.72% on very high volume (9.74 times normal).
What the news said
The AI model found strong news catalysts for four stocks. For Coal India Ltd., recent broker target price increases and buy recommendations were cited from Goodreturns and ad-hoc-news.de. Tata Consumer Products had a bullish broker target set by Motilal Oswal reported by ad-hoc-news.de. HCL Technologies had two broker target price changes reported by Moneycontrol.com and TradingView. Nestle India Ltd. was rated strong by the AI due to a MarketsMOJO upgrade and a Q2 preview suggesting strong earnings, but was dropped due to the sector limit.
Other stocks had weaker or no catalysts. For example, LTM Ltd. declared a dividend record date, which the AI rated as a weak catalyst. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. had news about a $15.5 billion investment by Hyundai Motor Group in India, but no specific company event was reported, so it was rated weak. Tata Consultancy Services announced a partnership with Zoho Corp’s ManageEngine, rated weak. Canara Bank was expected to report Q2 earnings, but the event had not happened yet and was not bullish.
Why each stock was bought or dropped
The bot bought three stocks, each with a strong catalyst and allowed by the rules:
- Coal India Ltd. was bought at ₹416.10 with a stop-loss at ₹412.50 and a target at ₹423.50. It closed at ₹416.95, resulting in a small profit of ₹61.20.
- Tata Consumer Products Ltd. was bought at ₹971.55 with a stop-loss at ₹964.90 and a target at ₹985.45. It closed at ₹981.90, earning ₹320.85.
- HCL Technologies Ltd. was bought at ₹1,335.50 with a stop-loss at ₹1,320.90 and a target at ₹1,360.90. The stop-loss was hit at ₹1,320.90, resulting in a loss of ₹321.20.
Nestle India Ltd. was rated strong but dropped because the bot already held a strong stock in the same sector (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), per the sector limit rule effective since 12 October 2026.
Other strong or weak candidates were not bought due to their ratings or the absence of a strong catalyst.
How the bot behaved
The bot read headlines for all 10 candidates and rated four as strong. It accepted three trades and rejected none for other reasons. No stop-losses were hit within 60 minutes. The sector limit rule prevented holding more than one strong stock per sector, which caused Nestle India to be dropped despite a strong rating. This rule is new since 12 October 2026 and affects the portfolio composition. No stocks from the same sector were held together on this day.
This report covers one day of trading on 14 October 2026.

Where the information came from
For each stock the bot collects the latest headlines from Google News, which links to many publishers. These are the headlines the AI model read, with the publisher and the date. A star marks a headline the AI cited as the basis of its rating. Prices and trading volume come from Yahoo Finance.

How these numbers are measured
- Gross: before brokerage, taxes and slippage, which are not modelled yet.
- R: profit or loss divided by the amount risked at the stop-loss (a stop-loss hit is −1.00R).
- Exit time: the 5-minute candle in which the stop-loss or target was touched; trades that touched neither are sold at the 3:15 PM close.
- Nifty 50: price index, from the moment the bot starts (about 09:35 IST) to 15:15 IST. The bot's percentage is on its whole starting balance, so the two are not like-for-like.
My Take
Simulation notice: this is a paper-trading experiment with fake money. No real orders are placed. All results are gross, before brokerage, taxes and slippage, and a few days of results prove nothing. Nothing here is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security; stocks named are examples from the simulation.
